I decided that with my recent move to Barcelona I would turn over a new leaf and start thinking a bit further forward rather than living from day to day. I had a think about what I would like to do in terms of sport next year and I decided that I would start racing my road bicycle next season. The road race season starts in early March.
Whilst I have a bright future behind me in competitive road cycling, I am still a competitor at heart so I have decided that I want to line up on the start line in the best shape that I can be in, without becoming a monk or being a real pain to live with.
It means shedding about 8 kilos in weight. Possibly ten but no more than that.
I thought I would share with you my efforts along the way.
As well as returning to road racing I decided to take up a new sport and Kite Surfing caught my eye. If all goes well my first lessons will be starting in mid September. A good friend of mine, Mike Pryde, put me in touch with Matthieu Nialle, the Sales Manager for Carbinha Kites in Spain. He is a qualified instructor so I will be in safe hands.
It should be a good giggle so I will let you know how I get on.
It will be a humourous blog and I hope you will find it interesting. Ask questions and I will do my best to answer them.
All the best.
Eduardo

Dear Eduardo, I am coming to Barcelona with a friend to do the Triathlon on 5 October.
Do you know if the swim is a water or beach start?
My friend and I have both had panic issues when suddenly running and diving into the water.
Your superior local info would be greatly welcome!
I can’t find any info on the web site!
Thanks Julie
